School holidays fall in March and April depending upon when Easter is each year, therefore planning around them is a good idea if you can.

The weather lends itself to getting out on foot and enjoying the sights of Brisbane city, South Bank and the riverside areas. The botanical gardens in the city or at Mt Coot-Tha are lovely at this time of year.

It is still definitely warm enough to enjoy being bayside, on Moreton Bay on a boat or on one of the amazing islands.

Autumn months are drier than summer months but still expect some rain with an average of 8 rainy days (1mm or more of rain) per month and on average rainfall of 60mm. Days are getting shorter and temperatures are cooling down. April is a lovely month to visit Brisbane, not too hot and definitely not cold.

# - I have quoted Gold Coast sea temperature because the data I found for Brisbane was a bit difficult to interpret. Moreton Bay can have significantly different temperatures than the general ocean temperatures and realistically you don't come to Brisbane for the beach, but you do go to Gold and Sunshine Coasts for that. This is just an indication.

Tips for Visitors to Brisbane in April

For Australian Visitors

April is a great month to visit Brisbane, with weather that is great for just about all activities indoor, outdoor, sightseeing. It can still be pretty warm at this time of year, but the humidity is starting to drop.

There are usually some school holidays during this month, with dates depending upon when Easter falls.

For Overseas Visitors To Brisbane

April is a great month to visit Brisbane. The weather is still quite warm, but not the stifling summer heat and there is generally less rain.

There are usually school holidays during April (depending on the dates for Easter) and they can affect the busy-ness of attractions and sights around Brisbane.

Air-conditioning in your apartments is not so important as the summer months, because the night temperatures are usually not too hot. I still recommend air-conditioning for hire cars as it can be quite warm in the middle of the day and air-conditioning makes it a bit nicer travelling around.
